Long Beach Civil Marriage Info

Obtaining a Marriage License

  • Marriage licenses are issued by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) β€” not the City of Long Beach. Long Beach+2LA Vote+2

  • You can apply online and then appear in person at one of several RR/CC locations. Appointments for express license + ceremony are available at locations like Norwalk and LAX. LA Vote

  • A public marriage license typically costs $90, and a confidential license around $85. The license is valid for 90 days after issuance. Los Angeles County RR/CC

Where to Apply

Norwalk Office (most common for Long Beach couples):

  • Address: 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, CA 90650

  • Hours: Generally weekdays (e.g., 8:00 am – 5:00 pm)

  • Both parties must apply together, with valid government-issued ID. Los Angeles County RR/CC

Civil Ceremonies in Long Beach

  • Long Beach City Hall (City Clerk’s Office) offers civil marriage ceremonies by appointment only.

    • Available Fridays, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Must schedule two weeks in advance. Long Beach

  • Fees:

    • Ceremony: $35

    • Witness request: $20 (witness must be 18+)

  • You must already have a valid LA County marriage license before performing the ceremony. After the ceremony, the signed license becomes a marriage certificate and must be submitted to the Registrar-Recorder to be recorded. Long Beach
