1. Apply for Your Marriage License
Couples in Bakersfield must obtain their marriage license from the Kern County Clerk’s Office.

2. Schedule and Perform the Ceremony
Once you have your license, you have several options:
Have your ceremony conducted by any legally authorized officiant — including Harbor View Weddings or local officiants we coordinate with in Bakersfield.
After the ceremony, the signed license must be submitted to the Kern County Recorder/Assessor’s Office for official recording. Kern County+1
3. Get a Certified Copy of Your Marriage Certificate
